Jumbo Skip Bins and Moreton Bay Recycling are seeking a highly experienced and self-driven Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Fitter to lead the servicing and maintenance of our diverse fleet across two successful, fast-paced businesses.

This is more than just a workshop role — it’s an opportunity to step into a dual position that combines technical excellence with fleet management responsibility. You’ll work both in the field and in the yard, servicing and maintaining a fleet of 14 trucks (Isuzu, Mack, Kenworth) and 18 pieces of heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, crushing equipment, and screening plant).

We’re looking for someone with a strong mechanical background who is proactive, organised, and confident working independently — a professional who takes pride in quality, uptime, and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform scheduled servicing, fault diagnosis, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and machinery.

Carry out major component replacements and rebuilds as needed (e.g. engines, transmissions, hydraulics)

Manage and monitor servicing schedules, maintenance logs, and defect reporting.

Coordinate parts procurement and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for outsourced repairs.

Respond to breakdowns and field service requests.

Work closely with operations managers to prioritise maintenance activities and ensure equipment uptime.

Maintain a clean and safe working environment and uphold workplace health and safety (WHS) standards.

Work alongside an experienced in-house boilermaker.

Your Background:

Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic / Fitter working on trucks and heavy earthmoving equipment

Strong familiarity with Isuzu, Mack, Kenworth, crushers, screeners, and earthmoving machinery

Hands-on experience with mobile crushing and screening equipment is highly desirable.

Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills

Confident working independently and making informed maintenance decisions

Well-organised with a strong focus on safety and record keeping

Own general tool kit (some specialised tools and equipment provided)

HR Licence, welding, and oxy cutting skills are advantageous.

Location: Narangba, QLD (with local travel to site as required)

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (some flexibility for overtime)
