The Role
As the Senior Health Promotion, Planning and Evaluation Officer you will plan, implement, and facilitate health promotion activities and programs within a multidisciplinary team. You’ll be working as part of the outreach team to improve the health and wellbeing of people living in remote communities and will travel to remote communities throughout the Central Australian and Barkly regions by light aircraft and 4WD vehicle for up to one week at a time.
Your responsibilities will include developing programs and resources, supporting research and data collection, and promoting continuous quality improvement. You’ll also ensure coordination of health promotion efforts and compliance with service quality and Workplace Health and Safety standards to maintain high-quality, safe healthcare services.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
Comprehensive understanding of current public health approaches to deliver programs, including primary health, community development and health promotion, and how these relate to the NT
Knowledge and understanding of the social determinants of health and their impact on target populations.
Experience in implementing integrated and coordinated approaches to health promotion planning and evaluation.
Proven strong written and oral communication skills including the use of information technology.
An ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures.
