The Anglican Church Southern Queensland (ACSQ) is one of 23 Dioceses that form the Anglican Church of Australia. The objective of the Office of Safe Ministry (OSM) , in consultation with all of ACSQ, is to promote and strive to ensure a safe, supportive, and ethical environment for all persons in ACSQ. The Office of Safe Ministry is committed to implementing strong proactive strategies, support and training that keeps children and adults at risk, safe while attending ministry activities.
We are seeking applications for a suitably qualified Child Safe Project Specialist. In this 12-month fixed term contract position, reporting and working with the Associate Director, OSM you will be responsible for reviewing current OSM policies and procedures, identifying any new risks or gaps for non- compliance and use initiative and opportunity for policy or procedural improvement which includes develop, design and deliver training products that align to Child Safe Organisation Act 2024. You will be an independent worker who uses initiative to challenge the norm, question why and make inciteful recommendations.
To be successful in your new role, you will have
Relevant degree qualifications in psychology, social work or human services, or similar supported with relevant professional experience
National Police Check and current Positive Notice (Blue Card) for child related employment or be willing to get these
Demonstrated experience with policy development and analysis to apply legislation
Experience developing, facilitating and delivering workshops, webinars and/or training sessions
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, organisation and time-management skills, and attention to detail.
