Our global customer provides services and solutions (Cloud based) to major players in the healthcare / medical industry. They are a large organisation with clients in Europe / UK/ US / Canada and the Middle East.
We are seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to play a key role in the growth of our region and the company overall. This role encompasses the development and execution of sales strategies, client partnerships, and collaborating across internal teams to maximise revenue and drive business growth.
The successful candidate will have a strong and proven track record in driving sales performance within a SaaS environment and Enterprise Business Solution sales.
This is a permanent role that can be based ideally in Melbourne (2 days in office based Melbourne CBD), QLD and SA also considered.
And will require Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency PR.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging both direct outreach and marketing campaigns.
- Generate new sales and cross sell opportunities in the defined territory
- Manage the relationship with your assigned accounts.
- Work with the Marketing Manager to align strategies and gather market intelligence to refine sales approaches.
- Ensure the qualification and prioritisation of sales opportunities to maximise ROI.
- Develop and implement robust sales plans for major opportunities, aligning with set goals.
- Facilitate and lead negotiations of high-value commercial contracts.
- Lead and support strategic initiatives such as forecasting, contributing to team development plans, and identifying areas for improvement within the sales process.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales Director to shape sales strategies and operational priorities, ensuring a consistent and forward-looking approach.
- Maintain the CRM system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date sales information.
- Provide forecasts and strategic insights to senior management as and when required
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Account Managers, Marketing) to create strategic sales opportunities to enhance revenue and profitability
Experience/Knowledge/Competencies You Will Need:
- A strong and proven track record in driving sales performance within a SaaS environment.
- Complex enterprise software sales experience
- Demonstrated success in closing high-value deals and guiding teams to achieve targets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Demonstrable ability to open new markets and build books of business from greenfield sites.
- Previous experience or strong interest in healthcare industry
- Proven ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders, particularly at the C-Suite level.
- Collaborative style with the ability to work across teams and departments effectively.
- Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to different audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to lead, influence, and motivate teams.
- Self-starter with a strong results-oriented mindset focused on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Mandatory:
- Must haves for me are Enterprise, Strategic Software Sales experience
- Complex Sales Process experience - 3-4 years of experience preferred i.e. selling across a broad spectrum of people within an organisation
- Enterprise Business Solution sales experience – i.e. a large complex solution that impacts the entire business not just one small component
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets
- Self-Driven and able to prospect actively into their own territory.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
Nice to have (Desirable):
- Healthcare / Medical Software experience
- Payroll or HR software experience
- Governance and Risk software sales experience
- Some form of Strategic Sales training i.e. Miller Heimann, Karoo, SPIN etc
