Competitive remuneration on SCHADS Award Level 6, part time role (3 days per week) $74,992 incl leave loading, super (excl NFP salary sacrifice).
About Us
LGBTIQ+ Health Australia (LHA) is the national peak health organisation in Australia for organisations and individuals that provide health-related programs, services and research focused on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex people and other sexuality, gender, and bodily diverse people and communities.
LHA works with legislators, policymakers, and service providers to help them understand and address the needs of LGBTIQ+SB people and communities. We support LHA members to have a stronger policy voice and partner with researchers across the country on issues of LGBTIQ+SB health and wellbeing.
About The Role
As LHA’s Research Lead, you’ll play a central role in shaping and supporting the national LGBTIQ+ health and wellbeing research agenda. You’ll work across a diverse portfolio of projects, from analysing national survey data to translating findings into engaging content such as webinars, newsletters, and infographics. You’ll also coordinate a national research network, support internal research activities, and contribute to the research content of two major conferences. A focus of the position will be research related to mental health and suicide prevention for LGBTIQ+ populations.
This is a unique opportunity to lead on research ethics, build strategic partnerships, and help secure funding that drives innovation and impact.
What you will do
Analyse and interpret data from national health and wellbeing surveys and internal sources.
Translate research into accessible formats for diverse audiences.
Coordinate a national LGBTIQ+ research network and facilitate collaboration.
Oversee and support research projects across the organisation.
Identify funding opportunities and develop research partnerships.
Lead the development of a framework on research ethics amongst LGBTIQ+ people and communities.
Contribute to the planning and delivery of two annual conferences.
What are we looking for
Tertiary qualifications in public health, social sciences, or a related field, such as experience in the mental health and suicide prevention sector.
Strong experience in data analysis and knowledge translation.
Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
A collaborative mindset and a passion for ethical, impactful research.
Experience in LGBTIQ+ research, grant writing, research ethics, and conference planning will be highly regarded.
