  • Part time 0.8 FTE (4 days p/w), 14 month fixed term contract (potential to extend)
  • Base Salary between $89,755 - $100,495 + 17% superannuation (pro-rata to 0.8 FTE)

About the opportunity

Join a collaborative research team at the University of Sydney working on a nationally significant project led by Professor Michelle Barakat-Johnson. In partnership with Western NSW Local Health District and other key collaborators, this initiative aims to improve timely access to wound care through implementation of a Digital Wound Model of Care,

Based at Orange Base Hospital, with travel across the Western NSW Local Health District required, this role will contribute to the expansion of the Wound Care Command Centre™. The research focuses on implementing and evaluating a Digital Model of Wound Care-an evidence-based, technology-enabled approach designed to improve the quality and accessibility of wound care across Australia. This innovative model aims to reduce the burden of chronic wounds on the healthcare system by delivering timely, cost-effective care through digital platforms.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • work closely with researchers, patients, clinicians, university stakeholders and external partners
  • recruit and consent participants (including patients and clinicians)
  • conduct qualitative interviews, focus groups, and surveys with patients and clinicians.
  • assist with data collection using electronic data capture platforms (i.e. REDcap), data cleaning, and the preparation, management and storage of research documentation in collaboration platforms (such as Microsoft SharePoint).
  • conduct research in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Assist with the education of a digital wound platform (app and web portal) for patients and clinicians and provide troubleshooting
  • facilitate communication and collaboration between research and clinical teams
  • contribute to continuous improvement of research operations, compliance, and safety.

About you

Are you passionate about advancing clinical research and improving patient care? This could be your next opportunity! We are looking for someone with:

  • tertiary qualifications in relevant field and experience working in a research environment and/or clinical environment (with experience in both considered favourably)
  • ability to conduct research in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP certification required /or willing to sit an online certification course if successful applicant)
  • strong communication and collaboration skills
  • proficiency in navigating apps and websites and the ability to communicate proper use of these platforms to patients and clinicians
  • skills in research data collection, documentation, reporting, and stakeholder engagement
  • ability to use software tools and data management platforms
  • ability to manage competing priorities and meet project deadlines
  • current driver's license and willingness to travel within the Western NSW Local Health District.
