An outstanding opportunity is currently available for a technical minded person who is currently in their last year at university or recently graduated, keen to learn acoustics to join ACA’s expanding team based in our Perth office.
About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Acoustical Consultant to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to kick-start your career in acoustics, working closely with experienced consultants on a diverse range of projects including hospitality, residential, commercial and infrastructure developments. Based in our Perth office, you will be responsible for carrying out varied technical assignments, including noise and vibration assessments, management of noise monitoring and acoustic testing programmes, acquisition and collation of data, computer modelling, noise and vibration monitoring, calculations and processing of results, interpretation of data, production of technical reports, assisting with project and office administration.
You will be mentored by our senior staff to learn and undertake detailed technical work.
The right person will be passioned and motivated about acoustics and will have an engineering, science or architectural degree to develop into in-depth environmental and built environment acoustical engineering projects.
About You:
We are looking for a technically-minded person with real interest in acoustics, motivated by the impact you can make to shape the environment and the built environment. The ideal candidate will have:
Tertiary qualification in Acoustics, Engineering, Environmental Science, Physics, Architecture or a related discipline.
Strong interest in acoustics, environmental noise, and building design.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
Current driver’s licence (site work required).
Desirable (but not essential):
Familiarity with acoustic measurement equipment (sound level meters and vibration meters).
Experience with acoustic modelling software (e.g., SoundPLAN, CadnaA).
Understanding of Australian Standards, Building Codes, and Environmental Noise Guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct environmental and building noise measurements using specialised equipment.
Prepare technical reports, noise impact assessments, and support documentation for planning approvals.
Assist in acoustic modelling and data analysis.
Undertake site inspections and liaise with clients, councils, and other stakeholders.
Contribute to the design of noise control and acoustic treatment solutions.
Support senior consultants in project delivery, project administration and with client management.
