A Message to OTs from the NDIS Sector: If you're an OT who’s ever felt trapped in paperwork, stuck in a clinic, or frustrated by slow career progression under the NDIS… you actually have an option. And we built Momentum4 to be the exact opposite.

Let's skip right to the most important part for our OTs :

We have injured workers (and their employers) that need your help and clinical skills to help them to get back to work. But we need your help as an impressive, ambitious and high achieving Occupational Therapist

Use your clinical skills and understanding of physical and mental health conditions to help injured people make the journey back to work and personal wellbeing. Get a real sense of achievement by providing occupational rehabilitation through the whole journey, from initial injury …. all the way through to real return to work, health and happiness.

I'm Chris, the Operations Manager at Momentum4, and I am definitely biased but I'm pretty sure we are one of the best places for allied health professionals to work.

To be honest the job is not all roses - there is some good news and some bad news ….

THE CHALLENGES …Let's get the bad news out of the way first – you will be challenged BUT supported.

You won’t just be a number here. You’ll be a valued part of a tight-knit team that shows up for each other and the people we serve. We work with clients who face real physical and emotional barriers—and it’s our job to help them rise. It’s not always easy, but you’ll never be alone.

WHAT'S GOOD ….let's talk about all the good stuff

Our team has the best vibe…and you can be guaranteed that we will only extend an invitation to join the team if we think you are a great fit. Our current office vibe score is 8.8/10 (3rd party independent assessment) which we are told is outstanding. This is based on team happiness, recognition, and all the important things that make up great culture. You need to help us maintain this great score. We do lots of fun stuff, because one of our Core Values is “Create Fun and Celebrate to Thrive. We always celebrate when we achieve a team or company goal. Last year we achieved our goal of helping 830 people to return to work and we celebrated with a day at the Melbourne Cup.

We are growing quickly as a team and a company and this has created lots of career, $$ financial and development opportunities. If you want to build a career and progress, then come on board and accelerate your income and your career.

You get above industry pay - our whole team are high achievers - they are very proactive and providing excellent value in the market place. They also get paid very well due to what they achieve and value they create. We have a formal career scale and incentive scheme that matches the value you provide in helping people return to work. You can progress on this scale at any time based on achievement.

The work is extremely varied and interesting … and you won't get bored. You will be visiting workers or employers on site most days, so you will enjoy both getting out and about and spending some time in the office. You will be helping with injury prevention strategies, work technique and pacing, designing the right duties to assist recovery, providing education on managing physical and or psychological injuries, and helping employers to develop the right suitable duties to match. You will also be doing assessments of workers including work capacity (and barriers to work) evaluations, and if you are interested, even helping with job seeking if they can't return to their original job. If you are sick of a clinical treatment job that is highly repetitious, then read on.

Your standard work week is designed to suit your life. If you want to work some longer days and some shorter days …. fine. Your schedule should support you to live your best life.

Working from home is definitely viable. If you want to get that extra gym session in or start work early … and finish early … this is absolutely possible. Of course we need you to be part and get the trust of the team but working from home on 1 – 1.5 days per week after initial training is totally achievable. This helps with your work life balance.

We have an “unlimited professional development training ” policy… we want to invest in you for the long term. If you are hitting your goals in your role, then we will pay for any training that you want to do. You just need to come back and share what you have learned with the team (the best way to consolidate your learning) and stay on our team long enough for the benefit of the whole Momentum4 team.

Grow your leadership skills with support – We also have a leadership program should you wish to be part of this. We also have various opportunities to develop your leadership skills as you gain more experience.

Enjoy your birthday off on us – Yes, we pay you to have your birthday off. You have time to eat your cake, right?

You'll have professional support . Our onboarding program is extremely comprehensive (12 weeks), and over your first 12 months you have a mentor and coach who helps you every step of the way. Our current team currently encompasses Occupational Therapy, and Exercise Physiology. You will have the best support from the team so that you can help workers recover and be their best. You will have structured weekly or fortnightly supervision (including case reviews) …. depending on your experience. You will have ample opportunities to shadow or collaborate on sessions to learn new skills. We also have monthly “lunch and learn” where we get in guest speakers or focus on particular areas of skills. You and I will have daily check-ins as I am in office every day…but also with our other senior clinical leads.

You will be incredibly well resourced. We are lucky that we have developed a broad range of resource and education tools based on long standing clinical experience. We use these to get great return to work outcomes with our workers.
