About the Role

Melbourne Polytechnic is seeking three Auslan Classroom Support Tutors (Metropolitan) to support the effective delivery of Auslan accredited programs. This is a great opportunity to contribute to student learning, support classroom activities, and engage with the Deaf community.

Key Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with the Auslan trainer to ensure planned activities meet student needs
• Assist students in the classroom with role-plays, signing/conversational practice, and other tasks as directed
• Participate in relevant training programs and contribute feedback to improve course delivery

Skills and Experience Required

• Active member of the local Deaf community and fluent in Auslan
• Ability to relate and engage well with people from diverse backgrounds
• Professional, engaging, and responsive tostudent needs
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Empathy for Auslan learners and sensitivity to their needs

Additional Requirements

Successful candidate will be required to provide:

• A valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  
• A National Police Check
