KAC Generation and Mechanical is located in Bungalow Cairns. We are a small family run business who specialise in a range of custom products using stainless steel, structural steel and aluminum.

We are currently seeking an additional Fabricator/Welder & Sheet Metal Woker who is local to the area and looking for ongoing work with an opportunity for an immediate start.

Prior experience in an engineering and manufacturing workshop environment would be preferable.This position is working Monday to Friday, with overtime readily available at peak times. There will be at times the need to work remote.

Below is essentially what we are looking for.

Read, interpret and follow instructions, specifications and/or drawings to determine job requirements

Join metal sections using various welding techniques and examine welds for size, penetration and defects

Experience with aluiminium, stainless steel and mild steel

Complete work with planned hours as indicated on work orders and/or as instructed by Workshop Manager

Work as a team and maintain professional relationships with other employees

Must have completed a trade as Welder

Proficient in MIG and TIG welding

At least 2 years recent welding experience (gained within the last 5 years)

Ability to perform welds to a sufficient level for achieving certification as tested welder

Proficiency in using general fabrication workshop tools and equipment

Proficient communication skills both written and verbal
