Are you ready to inspire change and support people on their recovery journey?
At Binbi Yadubay—meaning Healthy Beginnings—we offer a unique residential program just 9km north of Rockhampton. Our service includes withdrawal and rehabilitation support, as well as a family recovery program where parents can stay with their children aged 10 and under. We’re currently looking for a compassionate and motivated Pre & Post (Intake) Worker to join our team part-time, working 30 hours across four days (Monday to Thursday).
About the Role
This is a dynamic and rewarding role where you’ll be the first point of contact for individuals seeking support. You’ll connect with clients primarily over the phone, but also face-to-face as they enter the facility and again upon their departure, when you’ll provide vital aftercare support. You’ll conduct comprehensive assessments—including evaluating suicide and withdrawal risks—and help determine suitability for residential treatment.
Your work will ensure a smooth and supportive transition into and out of our programs. From welcoming new residents on their first day to facilitating therapeutic group sessions that build confidence and readiness, your impact will be felt every step of the way.
The gross hourly pay rate ranges from $49.28 to $51.51 per hour plus super, depending on your skills, knowledge, and experience.
What we are looking for
We’re looking for someone with a calm, empathetic approach and the ability to work independently. You will also possess the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant human services discipline with additional AOD qualifications desirable but not essential and or demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- You’ll be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly, and no two days are the same.
- Applied knowledge in AOD counselling practice, case management, intake, and assessment.
- Highly developed communication and community engagement skills.
- Local area knowledge, especially of community service agencies and programs is desirable.
- Experience in residential treatment service delivery with a sound knowledge of the potential risk elements specific to this type of environment is desirable.
If you’re a recent graduate with a passion for this work, we’d love to hear from you too!
What matters most is that you’ll live and breathe our values, which means:
- You are humble, human, and full of hope.
- You show up and share.
- You ask: Why not? And what’s next?
- You leave a positive wake.
What we have to offer
While you support others, we’ll support you with some great benefits, including:
- Extra paid leave days per year to support your wellbeing and work-life balance.
- Salary packaging to increase your take-home pay
- Meal entertainment benefits card
- Regular clinical supervision, case conferencing and debriefings.
- Flexibility in your work days (have a long weekend every week!)
- Discounts on everyday items such as groceries, petrol, clothing, and leisure activities through our company internal discounts and rewards platform.
If you’re ready to imagine the possibilities and make a real difference, apply now via the LLW Careers page.
Applications close Friday, 18 July 2025, but we may contact suitable applicants before then. For questions about the role or assistance with our careers portal, please email: [email protected].
We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and strongly encourage applications from diverse backgrounds, including First Peoples. Please note that employment is subject to a current Australian Driver’s Licence and a Working with Children Check.
