The Role

We have an exciting temporary full-time or part-time position available until 30 June 2026 unless otherwise determined, to join our Educational Delivery team in Community Services within the Health and Community Services Faculty at TAFE Queensland’s Springfield Campus.

As a TAFE Teacher in Community Services, you have the opportunity to influence the careers of future industry persons by sharing your extensive industry knowledge to students in a classroom or other educational setting.

This position reports to the Educational Team Leader.

Salary

The salary range for a TAFE Teacher is $91,202 to $122,084 (gross) per annum, depending on educational qualifications held and teaching experience.

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must possess relevant formal vocational qualifications and industry skills that are current and directly relevant to Youth Work/Child, Youth and Family Intervention training and learning, including:

  • current industry skills directly relevant to Youth Work/Child, Youth and Family Intervention training and assessment being provided;
  • current Youth Work/Child, Youth and Family Intervention knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;
  • evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment;
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card). For further information, please access: http://www.bluecard.qld.gov.au/;
  • Current Queensland Driver’s licence.

Additionally, to become a TAFE Teacher, you must hold one of the following training and assessment credentials:

  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
  • TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills (or TAELLN401A) and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools (or TAESS502A or TAEASS502B); or
  • TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or
  • TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or its successor; or
  • TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design and Development; or
  • TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development or its successor; or
  • A higher-level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).

Note: Proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience to be provided at interview.

  • High level of digital literacy skills across various platforms (online Learning Management Systems)
  • Industry currency – minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Community Services sector
