At Caringa, we are committed to providing an exceptional suite of services to our community. As we continue to grow and expand on our current client base, we currently have an opportunity for a Therapy Assistant to join our Allied Health Team. The role is initially on a Permanent Part-time basis for 3 days per week, we offer a dynamic environment with opportunities for professional growth and a supportive team culture. This role will work under the direct supervision and guidance of a therapist in the delivery of therapeutic intervention. The successful candidate ideally requires an understanding or familiarity with allied health and disability services.
We are seeking a candidate who is keen to:
• Facilitate therapy programs to help clients achieve their therapy objectives
• Develop experience within the rapidly growing disability sector, with continual support and guidance from our Allied Health team
• Advocate for client independence, empowering them to reach their personal goals
Key Requirements
Completion of a Certificate IV in Allied Health, or;
Currently enrolled in an allied health degree (e.g., Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Developmental Therapy, Physiotherapy) or;
Experience as a qualified Allied Health Assistant (minimum Certificate III).
Must hold a valid paid employee Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Must hold a NDIS Worker Check Clearance
Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation, NDIS New Worker Induction, NDIS Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals & NDIS Supporting Effective Communication Modules (NDIS Commission website)
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
Valid Driver’s Licence.
Strong interpersonal skills with an understanding of professional boundaries and scope of practice.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
Experience working with people with disability is desirable.
