The Facilities & Equipment Maintenance Officer is responsible for overseeing the management, maintenance, and repair of company assets, including ground support equipment, company tooling, company vehicles, and office and building facilities across multiple company bases. These duties include monthly maintenance tasks, repairs, disassembly, coordination of GSE tasks, drop-off & pick-up of Aircraft Parts, vehicles and GSE.
This role ensures operational readiness, compliance, and safety by planning and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance, coordinating tooling calibration, updating the asset management database, and conducting repairs and servicing as required. Additionally, this position plays a critical role in maintaining company offices and facilities, ensuring functionality, safety, and adherence to regulatory and company standards. Close collaboration with maintenance, procurement, and operational teams is essential to optimise asset utilisation and lifecycle while supporting the effective operation of company bases.
We are looking for someone who has:
Basic Trade qualifications or mechanical TA experience or equivalent;
Excellent communication and planning skills;
Good computer skills and data interpretation abilities;
The ability to hold and maintain an ASIC;
A current Northern Territory of Australia Class C Drivers Licence;
Technical knowledge of maintenance systems;
The ability to read and interpret illustrated parts catalogues; and
An Engineering or mechanical background.
The normal working hours of this role are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, although the holder of the position is also required to be contactable to respond to operational requirements that may fall outside these hours. Whilst the vast majority of work will be undertaken at our Darwin Airport location, some off-site work will also be needed to support our outport locations.
Goals for this Officer role will cover GSE availability, calibration compliance rate targets, maintenance turnaround time, asset manager date accuracy and zero safety incidents related to improper maintenance of calibrated tools of GSE. As such, energy, motivation and strong problem-solving skills are a must, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment whilst handling multiple priorities.
