As a Housing Case Manager you will provide support to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to secure and maintain long-term stable accommodation. In this role, you will:

  • Assess client needs, develop case plans and provide practical supports.
  • Develop and implement individual case plans that address identified and agreed issues
  • Increase clients’ knowledge and skills in budgeting and tenancy maintenance.
  • Advocate for and on behalf of clients as well as provide referral services as needed.
  • Encourage clients to engage in the local community and build social networks, while also supporting them to access stable and affordable accommodation.

This is a part-time (22.5 hours per week), maximum term opportunity with a 0.5 FTE at Palmerston and a 0.1 FTE at Anglicare WA.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Certificate IV in Human Services, or equivalent skills and experience
  • Demonstrated experience working in a human services organisation including case manage skills to assess, inform, advise, support, and refer clients.
  • Demonstrated skills in safety management and risk assessments
  • Knowledge of tenancy and related issues facing people experiencing homelessness
  • Ability to work from a strength-based approach and be empathic to the client group

Desirable

  • Demonstrated understanding of how alcohol and other drugs (AOD) impact individuals, including the complexities of addiction, relapse, and recovery, and how these factors influence housing stability and support needs.
  • Knowledge of the Advance to Zero initiative.

The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Card and a WA Drivers Licence. You will also need to access to a vehicle. Any mileage used will be reimbursed.

  • A competitive salary from $86,000 per annum + 12% superannuation
  • Salary packaging of up to $15,900 (which equates to circa $4K after tax) plus additional salary packaging of up to $2,650 for meal and entertainment expenses
