About the role:
We are seeking experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to step into the role of Instructor - Delivery and Assessment. In this role, youโll have the opportunity to train and inspire the next generation of aircraft maintenance engineers. Youโll independently lead theory and practical instruction within your trade stream while providing exceptional support to students and stakeholders.
Aviation Australia has newly opened 3 vacant Full-Time Instructor positions in all trade streams (Mechanical/ Avionics/ Structures) to meet the training demands and delivery schedules within the Townsville region. Whilst our training programs are scheduled for delivery in January 2026, we are looking to establish a team in this location by filling these roles in September 2025.

You will be offered variety and autonomy and will be able to demonstrate your ability to be highly organised and proactive, as well as a strong problem-solver with an aptitude for fostering effective relationships with students as you take them on their learning journey.
A min. Certificate IV in Aeroskills (desired), or a ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ (๐ ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฑ๐ญ๐ด) or ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ธ๐ถ๐น๐น๐ (๐ ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ญ๐ด) is also highly desired for delivery within the Townsville Schools.
Current Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) or Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) licence will be highly regarded, along with experience in a training or mentoring role.
Willingness to learn, grow and obtain a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Ability to work both autonomously and within a small, close-knit team.
Well-developed problem-solving skills and strong organisation skills.
Enthusiastic attitude with a passion for aviation.
Experience working in the aviation industry, preferably at least 3 years.
