Brighton Recreational Centre is looking for a passionate and experienced Art Teacher specialising in watercolour painting to teach a weekly adult art class run during the school terms. Commencing in Term 3, this is a casual opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who enjoys inspiring creativity and connection in a welcoming, community-based environment.

Brighton Recreational Centre is a not-for-profit organisation that has been proudly serving the Bayside community since 1969. We offer a wide range of recreational, educational, and wellness programs for all ages, including art, pottery, fitness, gymnastics and more.
About the Role
This position focuses on delivering engaging and supportive watercolour painting classes for adults. You will guide students through techniques, encourage experimentation, and help them grow in skill and confidence. Whether teaching beginners or more experienced hobbyists, your passion for watercolour and adult learning will create a positive and enriching experience.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver engaging, adult-appropriate lesson plans focused on watercolour techniques
Demonstrate and explain watercolour methods and concepts clearly
Provide constructive feedback and support individual artistic growth
Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
Maintain attendance records and monitor student progress
Manage set-up, clean-up, and care of materials and workspaces
Work collaboratively with the programs team to develop and enhance the art offering
What You’ll Bring
A qualification in Fine Arts or a related field
Demonstrated experience in watercolour painting
Previous experience teaching adults in a group or community setting
Strong communication and group facilitation skills
A current Working with Children Check and Police Check
Legal right to work in Australia
