About the Role:
This role is perfectly suited to someone looking for a lifestyle profession. Work between 15-22 weeks per season between September-May. We are looking for someone who is passionate about showcasing & presenting the best of Tasmanian scenery, landscapes, culture, food, flora, animals & more. With usual group sizes of 10-12 guests, the tours will be manageable, intimate and provide you the opportunity to leave an impression on visitors to our beautiful state.
We offer itineraries between 5-13 days in length. The available role will focus on itineraries usually requiring 5-11 nights staying away in different locations around Tasmania. Time off in between hosting tours will be by negotiation. The primary focus of the role is to ensure a great travel experience for our guests by:

safely navigating the pre-organised route with smooth and professional driving of our 17 seater coach vehicles.
providing informative and interesting commentary.
Sharing stories and personal touches about Tasmania.
Facilitating a healthy group dynamic & interaction through conversation, introductions and a people focus.
creating a relaxed environment which moves seamlessly to cover many attractions without the feeling of rushing.
The role can at times require a high degree of flexibility & problem solving skills in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as road closures & bad weather etc.
Note: previous tour guiding experience definitely advantageous, but not essential. The same can be said for any kind of official guiding certificate. Fun Tassie Tours will provide extensive training & planning to ensure our people thrive in all scenarios on tour. The interpersonal & communication skills of our staff are far more important/key character traits for the applicant, along with a sound general knowledge of Tasmania in general to begin.

Great personality and ability to work well with domestic & international guests.
Dynamic operator with the ability to adapt to changing groups and situations on a weekly basis.
Interested in Tasmanian history, culture, flora, fauna and anything Tasmanian in general.
Enjoys driving, being outdoors and the opportunity to showcase & present in an engaging manner our lovely island.
Flexibility to work a negotiated roster during the touring season of September-May.

Fun Tassie Tours have been operating small group, fully guided tour packages for over 13 years. In that time we have grown into market leaders in the Tasmanian small group tours market. We have a team of 6 employees, up to a dozen different itineraries and cover all areas of the island in different seasons.
We currently have 5 very new, luxury vehicles that are very regularly & fastidiously maintained to ensure zero on road mechanical issues. We pride ourselves on offering great value itinerary packages and a personalised travel experience.

Requirements:
Must hold a current Open drivers licence.
Hold or have the ability to obtain a LR licence (minimum).
Hold or have the ability to obtain a PPV (public passenger vehicle) licence.
Hold or have the ability to obtain a Working With Vulnerable People licence.
Hold or have the ability to obtain a 1st Aid certificate.
Note: While it is preferable the candidate is already in possession of some/all of the above it is not essential. Extensive driving experience in general is essential, but the remaining requirements can be worked through with the guidance of Fun Tassie Tours.
