Our client is a highly respected, long-established operator in the fresh produce distribution industry. Their team works closely with major supermarkets, growers, and distributors to ensure the safe and timely delivery of fresh produce to customers nationwide.
They are currently seeking an experienced Night Shift Transport Scheduler to join a growing team located at the Melbourne Market Precinct in Epping. You'll play a critical role in coordinating logistics and ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of temperature-sensitive produce across Victoria.
This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and who has strong scheduling, transport coordination, and communication skills.
Location: Melbourne Markets (Epping, VIC)
Work Type: Full Time Permanent - Night Shift
Salary: $92,000 + Super
Night/Early Morning Shift Times: Thursday Night through to Sunday approximately 9PM - 7AM, however, due to the nature of the industry shift times could vary
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule deliveries to major supermarket DCs and independent retailers
- Coordinate driver rosters and allocate jobs
- Manage fleet scheduling and basic maintenance tracking via ERoad
- Handle night shift transport queries and support drivers
- Liaise with Distribution Centres to book delivery time slots
- Monitor vehicle compliance, load restraints, and driver inductions
- Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations
- Maintain high standards of WH&S and hygiene
- Provide daily shift handovers to day team
- Adhoc truck driving in the yard - if you have a Truck License
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a transport scheduling or coordination role (essential)
- Strong understanding of fresh produce or FMCG logistics (preferred)
- High-level communication and problem-solving skills
- Able to work night shift and demonstrate flexibility with start/finish times
- Comfortable leading small teams and handling high-pressure situations
- Strong computer literacy (Transport Management Systems, Excel, ERoad)
- Forklift License (required)
- HC License (preferred, but not essential)
- Familiarity with cold chain logistics and CoR (training provided)
Additional Requirements
- Proof of Right to Work in Australia (e.g., Australian Birth Certificate, Passport, or Permanent Residency Visa)
- Successful applicants will be required to complete a Federal Police Check and Medical Test
- Completion of Programmed Induction Documents is required prior to client interview
