We are a small and growing Chartered Accountant Firm looking for our newest team member to join us in our small friendly Brookvale office. The role of the new senior accountant will be to provide accounting services to clients whilst ensuring excellent customer relationships are developed and maintained throughout the process. This position will also supervise our full-time bookkeeper and other junior roles as we grow. In addition, the position will work directly with the Director to improve processes and develop new business opportunities.

About the role

Preparation of monthly and quarterly BAS and IAS statements

Assist in the preparation of Income Tax Returns and FBT returns

Ad hoc bookkeeping overflow work and review and support to clients and our inhouse bookkeeper

Reviewing of working papers & financial statements

Liaising with clients and government organisations in a timely and professional manner

Prepares clear and concise work papers as evidence of work performed;

Prepare financial statements in accordance with all current, legal and accounting reporting standards;

Helps identify, research and resolve all complex accounting issues

Work with the Director on business development opportunities

Work with the Director on process improvements

About you:

You are an experienced Accountant with a passion for delivering high-quality financial outcomes. Passionate about continuous improvement, you actively seek opportunities to expand your expertise and contribute to the growth of others. You have excellent communication skills and don’t mind picking up the phone to talk to the client.

You will have:

A CA Qualification or equivalent (or working toward with sound accounting knowledge)

Minimum 3 year's experience in public practice as an accountant

Back to front knowledge of Xero and experience with XPM a bonus

Ability to learn and use other industry related software

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong problem solving and numerical skills

A positive and driven attitude

A commitment to continuous learning and professional development
