Job Title: Experienced Engineering Draftsman Wanted

The Role:

The VEX Group is a local Mackay based company who is emerging as a leading in quality deliverables, and innovation. We are seeking the right enthusiastic and dedicated experienced person to join our expanding team. The successful candidate may not be the most qualified but rather the person who shares the same principles as VEX and is willing to take on this role and make it their own.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed technical drawings and plans using specific software (SolidWorks. Preferred)
• Interpret sketches, quotes, and design specifications.
• Collaborate with clients, workshop foreman, Business Development Manager, engineers, and other team members to ensure accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Revise drawings as needed to reflect changes or feedback.
• Maintain organized documentation of all drafts and revisions.
• Develop, manage, and maintain detailed models & drawings for various projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
• Develop and refine mechanical designs based on project specifications
• Prepare technical drawings, and 3D models using industry-standard design software.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a draftsman in relevant industry (Fabrication and manufacturing.)
• Proficiency in drafting software (SolidWorks experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of design principles and construction methods.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Certification or degree in drafting, engineering, or a related field is a bonus but not a requirement.
• Manage time appropriately
• Monday to Friday Mackay office 9 day fortnight optional (Site visits may apply)
