What you'll be doing
Join the Access and Assessment Mental Health Team at Blacktown, where you'll deliver acute mental health care, crisis support, and care coordination in a dynamic, multidisciplinary setting. Responsibilities will include:
- Providing triage, assessment, crisis intervention & acute care
- Engaging with families for therapy, education & support
- Liaising with GPs, police, hospitals & external services
- Assisting with medication and participate in clinical reviews
- Work rotating shifts including weekends, mentoring junior staff

Essential Requirements:
Qualifications which permit registration as a Nurse and full registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
Selection Criteria:
- Experience and clinical skills in community mental health triage, comprehensive assessments, including risk and safety planning as well as experience in provision of collaborative care and discharge planning
- Understanding of Mental Health/ Psychiatry service/ crisis work and ability to work with in a demanding crisis/acute management service.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with consumers/carers/families and has experience working with families who are coping with Mental Health Illness.
- Highly developed interpersonal communications skills, effective verbal, written and negotiation skills and intermediate computer skills.
- Experience and knowledge in acute mental health intervention, early intervention, and CALD issues.
- Understanding of the recovery philosophy and trauma informed care in Mental Health with the ability to implement these in clinical practice.
- Understanding of NSW Mental Health Act (2007).
- Current Driving licence (class C - unrestricted) valid within Australia and willingness to use same for the work purpose.
