We are looking for an experienced and qualified Early Years Manager who has excellent interpersonal skills to join our team.
About us:
Daylesford Community Child Care Centre is a well-established community-based children's centre located on the lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung People in the Hepburn Shire. Daylesford Childcare is open 8am-6pm and provides integrated 3- and 4-year-old kindergarten in a Long Day Care setting and a Outside School hours Care program onsite at Daylesford Primary School.
The Centre opened in June 1989 to provide for the diverse childcare needs of the small rural community of Daylesford and District. Daylesford’s philosophy is built on trust and respect for children, families and staff and our community work closely in providing a warm, trusting and nurturing environment.

About the role:
We are looking for an experienced and qualified Early Years Manager who has excellent interpersonal skills, is supportive of professional development and educator growth, ability to multitask across many projects, lead exceptional programs and encourage critical reflection. This position is supported by our Admin, Pedagogical Leader and Committee of Management.
We pride ourselves in teaching the children about the natural world and respecting the environment through our well established bush kindergarten program and stunning outdoor learning environments. We are looking for a candidate whose educational philosophy is similar to our services. We have wonderful facilities and learning spaces that are designed to inspire both educators and children’s teacher and learning.
As a key part of our small dynamic team you will be required to work both independently and with others to support the operations of our organisation. This includes being the nominated supervisor for both centre-based care programs and ensuring a safe and healthy organisational culture across the team.
Early Years Manager is responsible for:
Managing the day-to-day operations of the Centre Based programs.
Ensuring maintenance of staff and children’s files and ensuring ongoing compliance and maintenance of mandatory training.
Leading the service in building effective partnerships
Developing organisational culture and pedagogical curricular development
Team leadership of the Long Day Care & Outside School Hours Care services
Ensuring the service adheres to all relevant regulations and statutory requirements.
Working to ensure the service meets or exceeds the National Quality Standards.
Supporting the professional leadership and development of staff and educators
Developing and maintaining policies and practices for the service.
Maintaining open and honest communication with the Community of Management to ensure effective and sustainable decision making.
Qualification and Experience:
An ACECQA approved education and care Degree or Diploma as required by the Education and Care Services National Law Act (Victoria).
Current Employee Working with Children Check and National Police check
Current Education and Care services First Aid training, Anaphylaxis and Asthma management training as prescribed in Education and Care Services National Law Act (Victoria)
Consent to being the Nominated Supervisor for the Long Daycare and After School Care Services
A working knowledge of appropriate frameworks and an ability to develop and implement a high-quality educational program that reflects the diverse nature of the centre, local and wider community.
A working knowledge of the National Quality Standards, the Education and Care Services National Law Act and the Education and Care Services National Regulations
Work experience and skills:
Leadership skills in ECE
Knowledge and experience with operations
Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders
Excellent literacy & numeracy skills
A proven history of advanced organisational skills
Advanced computer literacy, able to pick up new systems quickly with minimal training
Ability to multi task

Key Selection Criteria:
➢ Degree or Diploma in a relevant field with extensive and diverse experience working in the Children’s Services sector or in an equivalent leadership role. And have a current ACECQA compliant First Aid Certificate, including Resuscitation, Asthma Management, and Anaphylaxis plus current child protection training.
➢ Demonstrated experience in a management role with experience leading staff within a complex environment.
➢ Experience in the planning, coordination and evaluation of a professional service, including policy development.
➢ Exceptional communication skills with demonstrated experience in change management and the ability to motivate and develop others.
➢ Demonstrated ability to form positive relationships and communicate with families, while being sensitive to the cultures and individual circumstances of children and families from diverse backgrounds.
➢ Competent Financial Management & IT skills.
➢ A current drivers’ licence, Valid Working with Children Check and PRODA registration or ability to access.
