As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you’ll help bring the energy and elegance of Blackbird to life — supporting the day-to-day running of the venue, leading service on the floor, and coaching a high-performing team to deliver excellence with every interaction.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading by example on the floor — delivering polished, premium service every time

Supporting the Restaurant Manager in all aspects of venue operations

Coordinating service flow, table allocations, mise en place and team briefings

Mentoring, training and motivating the front-of-house team to perform at their best

Delivering seamless VIP experiences with warmth, professionalism and discretion

Resolving guest concerns quickly and thoughtfully

Managing rosters, budgets, and team availability

Collaborating with the Head Chef and Bar Manager on menu knowledge and pairings

Ensuring safety, quality and compliance standards are always upheld

Supporting venue activations and events that leave a lasting impression

Ahat You’ll Bring

At least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory hospitality role

Experience in premium dining, events, or multi-level venues

A hands-on, lead-from-the-front attitude

A calm, confident presence under pressure

Natural leadership with strong communication and team-building skills

A deep love of service, food, drinks — and creating memorable moments

Working knowledge of POS and rostering systems

A solid understanding of WHS, RSA and licensing requirements
