An opportunity to join the team at Normet is available for an experienced fly in fly out (FIFO) Field Service Technician. We are particularly interested in hearing from experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Auto Electricians or candidates skilled in both areas.

FIFO from Adelaide, Sydney, or Melbourne on an 8:6 roster with 12-hour shifts. Normet is also open to considering a 2:2 roster arrangement for the right candidate.

In this role, you’ll carry out on-site work throughout Southeastern Australia, providing electrical and technical service, maintenance, and repairs on Normet and client underground machinery. There may be an opportunity to work nationally and internationally on assignments in the future.

8:6 roster but open to considering a 2:2 roster

Opportunity to earn between $185,000 to $200,000 plus superannuation per annum depending on experience, on an 8:2 roster

About you

Minimum of 5 years of industry experience, along with Certificate III in Mechanical, Electrical, or a dual trade qualification

Previous underground experience is essential

Previous experience with Normet equipment will be highly regarded

Solid experience in modification and repairs of heavy mobile equipment

Strong mechanical / electrical knowledge, experience, and aptitude

Ability to read hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical schematics

High level of problem solving and diagnostic skills

Experience with can-bus systems is highly desirable

Must hold a current Australian Driver’s license

Full working rights in Australia

You will have the ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical and obtain a National Police Clearance.
