Micron21 — Australia’s first Tier IV certified Data Centre — is looking for a motivated and technically capable Network Engineer to join our growing team in Kilsyth, Melbourne.

This role is ideal for an individual with a strong technical foundation who seeks to gain in-depth experience in enterprise networking while contributing to day-to-day operations that keep a global network running. You’ll work with modern technologies in a hands-on capacity, surrounded by a collaborative and highly skilled team of co-workers.

What You’ll Be Doing

Support and maintain our national and international carrier-grade network (AS38880).

Manage enterprise-grade networking hardware: Cisco Nexus, Juniper SRX, and others.

Work with protocols such as BGP, IS-IS, VXLAN, VRFs, Leaf & Spine EVPN, VNI, and DWDM.

Handle routine networking tickets, monitoring, and network change requests.

Contribute to network automation projects and SDN integrations via OpenStack.

Support DDoS detection, mitigation, and security event handling.

What We’re Looking For

3–5 years’ experience in a NOC, ISP, or Data Centre environment.

Solid understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, switching, and routing.

Exposure to routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, or IS-IS.

Eagerness to work on both advanced projects and operational network tasks.

Strong documentation and communication skills — you're just as comfortable writing up a fix as you are solving the issue.

Industry certifications like CCNA/CCNP are welcomed but not essential.

A relevant degree is beneficial but not required — we care more about your skills and motivation.
