Ave Maria is a NDIS registered organization based in Illawarra. We are looking for Disability support workers for our Wollongong central and Dapto regions on both a Permanent Part Time or Casual basis.

To be considered you MUST have availability for one or more of the following shift types and/or experience which should be addressed in a cover letter;
Inactive sleepover availability, 17:00 – 08:00 with an 8-hour inactive sleep, available 7 days
Short shifts to provide personal care and second staffing, 2 - 4 hours of work, available 7 days
Experience with complex mental health and psychosocial disabilities
Experience with High Physical SDA Support including Manual Handling
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Ave Maria's Participants in developing and achieving their NDIS goals, promoting independence and autonomy
Provide personalized support to participants with disabilities in their daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, medication management, and household domestic duties
Collaborate with stakeholders, including family members, healthcare professionals, and other support workers, to ensure coordinated and effective care
Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that respects the rights, dignity, and choices of the participants you support
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills in disability support
Implement behavior support strategies and crisis intervention techniques as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of the participants you support
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including progress notes, risk assessments, care plans, and incident reports
Skills & Experience Required Qualifications:
Certificate III or IV in Disability, Mental Health, Community Welfare or similar preferred
Previous experience in Support Work including manual handling, personal care, medication and transfer support
Experience and understanding of Mental Health and psychosocial disabilities, positive behaviour support strategies and
NDIS workers screening check & Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Current first aid & CPR certificate
Valid Australia’s Drivers' License & own insured vehicle with the ability to drive larger company vehicles
We will be interviewing throughout July for our July and August Orientations to meet the needs of some new clients.
