About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Arts Manager to join our dynamic and community-focused team. This position plays a central role in shaping and delivering our cultural and artistic vision through public exhibitions, creative programming, and stakeholder partnerships.
Reporting to the Library Committee and working closely with our internal teams, the Arts Manager will lead the development and implementation of visual arts strategies and cultural initiatives that enhance the profile and community impact of Xin Jin Shan Chinese Library. You will also contribute to strategic planning and help embed arts into everyday life for our visitors, members, and broader audiences.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the design, planning, and delivery of visual arts and cultural programs
· Manage the development of public art and exhibition policies
· Collaborate with community groups, artists, and cultural partners
· Coordinate project timelines, budgets, and reporting for cultural initiatives
· Drive engagement through innovative arts marketing and outreach
· Identify and apply for funding and grant opportunities
· Support cross-cultural activities and programs that reflect Chinese-Australian heritage
· Promote the Library as a vibrant, inclusive, and accessible cultural destination
Skills and Experience
· A tertiary qualification in Arts Management, Cultural Studies, Public Art, or a related field
· Minimum of 5 years’ demonstrated experience in community-based arts or cultural programming
· Strong project management and organisational skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines
· Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
· Proven experience in grant writing and arts funding acquisition
· Advanced written and verbal communication abilities across a range of media
· High level of cultural competency, particularly in engaging with the Chinese-Australian community
· Proficiency in relevant software tools, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
