The Northern Territory Emergency Service is responsible for facilitating Emergency Management planning, raising public awareness of potential disasters and providing a response capability for emergency events through dedicated volunteers, in cooperation with NT and Local Government, as well as community groups.

Members of the Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service (NTFRS) are our organisation’s most important asset. The NTFRS plays a major part in ensuring the safety of all Territorians by attending a wide range of incidents such as road accidents, chemical spills, industrial accidents, structure fires, grass and bush fires as well investigating the cause of fire and building and plan inspections and educating the public about the importance of fire prevention and fire safety.

The Northern Territory Police Force has developed into a modern well-respected force. It is equipped to meet the needs of the community and members are trained to keep ahead of today’s criminals and their methods.

The motto of the Northern Territory Police Force is “To Serve and Protect”.

The Joint Emergency Services Communications Centre in Darwin has instant contact with all stations, vehicles, aircraft and vessels across the Territory and provides for the Police, Fire, Emergency Services and St John Ambulance Service.
