Your new role

As the Project Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for providing support to projects undertaken within our Infrastructure Delivery function. This role focuses on managing the day-to-day tasks on BESS construction sites and ensuring the successful completion of work to the required standard of quality, on time and within budget.

Your key responsibilities will be (but not limited to):

Inspecting, monitoring and measuring the performance of contractors on a daily basis to ensure compliance with design, materials, standards, quality, WHS, community and environmental requirements in accordance with the terms & conditions of the contract.

Ensure all Workers are suitably trained to undertake the required work.

Scheduling of activities/tasks in liaison with Project Managers, Project Engineers / Engineering Officers and workgroups.

Plan, co-ordinate, monitor and inspect work activities carried out by staff and contractors to deliver services to meet Project specifications and to ensure that work is carried out to standards and that productivity and safety targets are achieved.

Monitor staff and resources to support work schedules and establish controls to ensure that budget targets are met.

To be successful, you will have:

Have trade qualifications in Building/Construction (or equivalent) as well as demonstrated related trade experience.

A current “Clerk of Works” certificate or equivalent or is working towards.

A current Class C motor vehicle licence.

Extensive knowledge and understanding of construction processes and methods, materials and equipment as well as knowledge of Work Health and Safety Act and its regulations.

Knowledge of works management, budget, financial and performance management principles, including basic project management, auditing, induction and workplace assessment.

The ability to investigate technical and practical problems and provide hands-on instruction relevant to their experience.

Proficient to read and understand construction drawings, schematic diagrams, maps and plans and to prepare diagrams and sketches.
