Job Responsibilities
Oversee the strategy, development and delivery of detailed forward programming that aligns with the Governor’s objectives
Provide strategic leadership and guidance in relation to Government House external communications
Provide strategic leadership in the delivery of bespoke events and engagements for the Governor and Governor’s Establishment
Oversee the provision and maintenance of Household Services (food, beverage, cleaning and laundry services) for Governor and Guests
Overall responsibility over the general presentation of Government House
Facilitate the management of the Governor’s program
Provide management oversite for Governor’s Establishment events, including but not limited to investitures, open day events, dignitary, diplomacy and Vice Regal events
Manage internal budgets through collaboration with the Director of Corporate Services / Chief Financial Officer
Build and maintain effective working relationships across the Governor’s Establishment and provide high-level advice as appropriate
Demonstrate a leadership and management style consistent with the standing of Government House and in line with the expectations of the Official Secretary, including complying with the Code of Conduct and all policies and procedures
Selection Criteria
Essential Work-Related Requirements
Relevant or demonstrated experience in the application of high-level events management, media and communications.
Demonstrated experience in a similar role
Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver high-level executive support services
Demonstrated ability to manage teams, motivate and guide staff
Excellent high-level communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to consult with a wide variety of people
Maintain effective working relationships, motivating and inspiring staff to drive performance
Demonstrated planning and organisational skills and experience delivering in a complex, time-sensitive environment with multiple stakeholders
Demonstrated strategic planning capabilities
Ability to work outside office hours as required for events
Desirable Work-Related Requirements
Relevant qualification or demonstrated experience in events management, communications and media, journalism, or public relations
