Our client is a leading player in the Australian automotive sector, and they’re on the lookout for an experienced AS400 RPG Analyst Programmer.

Specialising in vehicle services and parts distribution, our client relies on robust IT systems to power operations across a national network. This role sits at the core of that capability — helping to ensure the smooth functioning and continuous improvement of their AS400 platform.

🔧 The Role

As the AS400 RPG Analyst Programmer, you’ll:

Develop, maintain, and enhance core applications using RPG ILE, CL, SQL, COBOL, and Java

Provide technical support across testing, deployment, and post-go-live phases

Collaborate with stakeholders across HQ, local teams, and partners to design and deliver system solutions

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner

Document software processes, including development and testing workflows

Ensure data security and regulatory compliance through the implementation of appropriate protocols

Translate business requirements into practical, scalable solutions

Partner with internal teams in logistics, inventory, finance, and parts management to deliver tailored IT support

✅ What You’ll Need

Proven experience in AS400 development with strong command of RPG programming

Technical proficiency in RPG ILE, CL400, COBOL400, and SQL

Working knowledge of XML and Java/Eclipse

Sound understanding of parts operations — including sales, purchasing, warehousing, logistics, and inventory

Experience managing data exchange interfaces via FTP/SFTP

Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking

Excellent communication skills — verbal and written

A keen interest in learning and adapting to evolving technologies
