About the role

Assistant Director /Room Leader

This is a contact role working with the children 4 days per week with 1 day per week in the office.

As the Assistant Director you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the service. You will be supported in developing leadership strategies to effectively manage a team of educators. You should have a passion for high-quality care, good organisational skills and an ambition for professional growth.

As part of the leadership team, you will be a role model in ensuring a respectful, nurturing and unhurried environment for children. We focus on developing agency, independence, self-regulation and respect as well as implementing play-based programs that support all areas of development.

In your Room leader in our Toddler room (up to 15 children per day).,you will:

Lead and manage the room, delivering high-quality, play-based educational programs.

Mentor and support educators, fostering a collaborative and reflective team culture.

Plan, implement and evaluate learning experiences aligned with the EYLF and NQS

Building strong relationships with families and the local community

Actively contributing to the continuous improvement and Reggio-inspired practice.

What we're looking for

Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualification

Substantial experience as a Room Leader or Educator, specifically in a toddler room setting

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children, families and the team

Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail

Genuine passion for early childhood education and a commitment to supporting children's learning and development

Knowledge of the National Quality Framework and relevant regulations

Passionate about Reggio-inspired practice
