Melbourne Garden Depot maintains gardens in and around the inner eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

We are a small boutique business established in 2010 and continue to grow our loyal customer base every year whilst keeping our core business belief of quality and sustainability. We also operate a wholesale production nursery in Wonga Park. We are looking for an experienced gardener to maintain a small number of our best gardens. This role will offer 5 days a fortnight of high-end garden maintenance and the option of 2-3 days each week, working in our nursery at Wonga Park.

Our ideal candidate:

-Must have at least 2 years' experience working in garden maintenance. Applicants with qualifications will be looked upon favorably.

-Great attention to detail in their work and customer relations/communication skills.

-Must have a driver's license.

-Outgoing, confident, reliable and punctual

What is involved in the job:

Garden Maintenance

Mowing & edging, pruning, weeding, hedge trimming, blowing, raking, fertilising & spraying

You will be required to handle chemicals including herbicides, pesticides, petrol & oil

You must be able to use power tools including blowers, whipper snippers, trimmers, mowers & pole saws.

Mulching, planting, digging and moderate to heavy lifting.

Some ladder work

Nursery

Work at our production nursery in Wonga Park . Helping with potting, weeding, pruning and general maintenance of the nursery.

Skills and experience

The applicant must have great customer service skills. The ability and confidence to communicate with clients to build a solid working relationship. You will need to be physically fit and have strong attention to detail in your work. The ability to work with other staff and on your own.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform core garden maintenance duties outlined above. An immediate start would be preferred.
