Thrust Maritime is a niche business that develops and operates marine subsea lifting solutions and conducts marine design and manufacture scopes.

We are looking for experienced boilermaker-welders to join our busy and productive production team in Dandenong South. You will be a key member of a small highly skilled team where your initiative and ability to work autonomously will be valued. There is a wide variety of work as we are a project-based organisation with many different types of customers.

Your Role

You will be welding and fabricating complex structural marine systems using A-grade materials. From time to time you will be part of our site operations team installing equipment on ships and conducting vessel alterations as well as supporting the maintenance and operational readiness of our major marine rental assets. You will also be involved in manufacturing and testing our latest products as they are developed as well as an active participant in growing and improving the factory capability.

In our Dandenong South facility we are currently manufacturing a sophisticated Launch and Recovery system for the emergency ventilation of submarines (a major European country).

Our ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate the following attributes and experience:

Experience with Marine Classification Society welding

Relevant trade qualifications.

Weld procedure testing and working in a coded welding environment.

Read, interpret and work from engineering drawings – asking question if necessary.

Work with complex structures in steel

GMAW and FCAW welding advantageous.

Experience in oil/gas, marine or defence industries

Self-starter with a passion for learning
