As a newly formed entity, Experience Gold Coast is focused on supercharging tourism, events, arts & culture, and education outcomes for the City of Gold Coast.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a strategic and research-savvy professional to take on the role of Research and Partnership Lead. This role is your chance to work with leading city advocates, drive high-impact partnerships, and grow the international business events pipeline across priority sectors including health, education, innovation and more.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and research international association event opportunities aligned to strategic city industries and ambassador profiles.
Work closely with our Sales and Partnerships team to build a strong pipeline of international leads (target: 8/month).
Support the strategic development and evolution of the Gold Coast’s Business Events Ambassador Program.
Partner with universities, industry leaders, and stakeholders like Invest Gold Coast, the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct, and Business Events Australia.
Help shape our future events strategy and co-design initiatives that drive visitation, advocacy, and economic impact.
Mentor sales team members in international bidding processes and research systems (ICCA etc)
Our Ideal Candidate
You’re a connector, researcher, and strategist who’s comfortable navigating complex stakeholder environments and passionate about bringing big ideas to life. You will bring:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in tourism or business events, ideally in international bidding or lead generation.
Knowledge of the business events distribution system and key industry bodies.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working with executive boards, universities, and government agencies.
A collaborative spirit and drive to influence outcomes.
Experience with CRM systems, reporting, and delivering strategy-aligned insights.
