About the project:
INDEX Consultants have partnered with a public sector client to assist them in establishing the foundations of a critical platform. We're seeking an experienced Clinical Data Lead to join a forward-thinking team supporting the delivery of an initiative focused on improving health information sharing. This is a highly collaborative role where your clinical knowledge and expertise in terminology mapping will directly contribute to the success of the project. You will work with internal teams, clinicians, and external partners to ensure clinical data is represented accurately, consistently, and in alignment with national standards.
Key Deliverables:
- Interpret clinical practices and language to shape requirements and support stakeholders.
- Map clinical content to relevant standardised code sets and terminologies (e.g., SNOMED CT, LOINC).
- Develop and maintain value sets, terminology reference sets, and models that enable safe and effective data exchange.
- Lead terminology analysis and migration efforts, including reviewing new terminology releases and managing updates.
- Engage with clinicians and health services to communicate terminology decisions, gather input, and provide expert guidance.
Skills and Experience:
- Solid background in clinical terminology, health informatics, or a related field, with experience in terminology mapping and analysis.
- Proficiency in tools such as Excel, Symedical, and dbMotion for managing and visualising clinical data.
- Demonstrated experience working on healthcare data standardisation or interoperability projects.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with national and international health data standards and an understanding of clinical workflows.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is mandatory
- Have to be based in Melbourne (or looking to relocate to Melbourne)
