Central Fire & Electrical has introduced a Fire Protection Career Pathway (FPCP) program - designed to offer roles with clear career progression into Senior Technician, Trade, and Management levels of our company and provide a solid platform for the Best and Brightest to build a prosperous career in a rapidly growing industry.
From a trainee technician role, clear growth opportunities exist into Senior roles, electrical apprenticeships, office based Coordination and management positions.

The Pathway:
STAGE 1 – Trainee Technician:
- Start your journey by learning the basics of the service technician role from our diversly experienced fire technicians.
- Learn the operating systems, processes and day to day key functions of the fire technician role within our business.
- Demonstrate your ability and willingness to adopt our values of teamwork, quality, reliability and integrity
- learn the basics of servicing a range of portable and fixed fire equipment.
STAGE 2 – Junior Technician:
- Undertake Certificate II training if Fire Protection Inspection and Testing
- Continue to expand your knowledge, working independently as a fire technician
- Demonstrate your problem solving ability, and ‘Get It Done’ mentality.
STAGE 3 – Qualified Technician
- Demonstrate the skills, knowledge and experience you have acquired from stages 1 and 2. Show you willingness and ability to service all types of fire equipment
- Expand your knowledge and experience, via additional training in an area of your choice within the fire technician role
STAGE 4 – Senior Technician
- Show us you have the knowledge, skills, experience, and attitude to pass on your skills to incoming Trainee technicians.
Where to from Stage 4?
You have the choice to either stay in a Senior Technician role OR continue your development into areas of the business that can offer further growth to knowledge, experience, and remuneration, such as:
- Coordinator and, ultimately, management roles
- Apprenticeship within our Projects and Minor Works team
- Continue to expand your knowledge of Fire Protection Systems and begin a journey into Fire Systems Assessment and certification.
ALREADY AN EXPERIENCED FIRE TECHNICIAN?
This role is open to those with previous fire technician experience - with the opportunity to demonstrate your skills and experience, and remuneration that aligns with your capabilities! Accelerated Pathway opportunities into senior roles is available.
