About the Role
Savie Support is on the lookout for a reliable, self-motivated Casual Disability Support Worker to join our growing team. Servicing the Newcastle, Maitland, and Port Stephens areas, this role is ideal for a mature individual who brings empathy, life experience, and a strong sense of responsibility. You’ll work independently, travelling between participants’ homes, with flexible shifts starting from a minimum of 2 hours.

This role includes support for participants who may require manual handling and/or are high-functioning with mental health needs. Confidence, empathy, and adaptability are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Provide personalised in-home care, including personal care and daily living support

Facilitate community access, social outings, and appointments

Encourage independence and life skill development

Support participants who require manual handling

Support high functioning participants who may experience mental health challenges

Travel between participant locations as needed

Accurately document support using the CareMaster system

Communicate respectfully with participants and their families

Follow all WHS procedures and company policies

What We’re Looking For

Experience in disability, aged care, or community support (Cert III in Individual Support or equivalent highly regarded)

Compassionate, dependable, and self-directed

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle

Flexibility to work across a varied roster, including weekends and public holidays

Confidence in providing manual handling and mental health support

An awareness of professional boundaries and the ability to maintain them
