Overview

We have a newly created opportunity for a Maintenance technician - Carpenter / Handyman to join our growing team in Melbourne. This will be a supporting role to the Site managers & Project Managers across multiple projects through various sectors.

Responsibilities and Duties

Hands on execution across all projects

Competant carpentry skills

Competant patch plaster paint repair

Skilled knowledge water ingress issues and solutions

Regular site inspections for new and ongoing projects

Engage with clients and tenants as required to complete works.

Scheduling and managing trades and sub-contractors.

Ensuring projects are executed to the highest quality, as documented, and specified.

Providing excellent customer service to all stakeholders.

Ensure all elements of site safety and cleanliness are adhered to

Inspire and lead employees and sub-contractors with a positive, drive and attitude.

Maintain a professional appearance at all times

Communication

Liaising with project managers and relative design and admin team.

Communicate daily with the team regarding progress, site delays, WHS concerns, labour requirements and procurement.

Communicate program and progress to subcontractors.

Liaising with clients & tenants to provide updates and respond to requests

Program

Assist the project manager in creating schedule for the project

Monitor and track Project Program.

Assist to update and track Target Program as required.

Ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.

Program Subcontractors allowing advanced notice to ensure sequencing.

Procurement

Assist the project manager across all aspects of procurement.

Coordinating supplies and materials to be delivered to site, at appropriate times.

Hiring and Off-hiring small tools, plant and equipment as required.

WHS

Review and implement the Quantum Commercial Solutions Health and Safety Coordination Plan. (1 Breadcrumb)

Conduct Site Inductions for all employees, subcontractors, and visitors as required.

Review and enforce SWMS for high-risk tasks.

Ensure relevant PPE is worn by all personnel as applicable.

Hold toolbox meetings with employees and subcontractors as required.

Educate site workers on safety procedures to be adopted on site. Ensure strict compliance to safety standards.

Report accidents and incidents to the Senior Project Manager / General Manager at the earliest possible time.

Ensure all OH&S policies and procedures are adhered to, including, trades and suppliers meeting their obligations.

Skillset

Experience with software (Simpro & 1 Breadcrumb preferred)
