About the role

Fixed term temporary part time opportunity to provide specialist clinical and clinical service planning expertise in paediatric perioperative services to guide the planning and development of a new paediatric surgical service at The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH) and associated workflows. The Senior Medical Officer (Paediatric Surgery) will provide leadership and manage activities collaboratively within an interdisciplinary environment to facilitate best practice and high-quality patient outcomes by demonstrating advanced clinical and professional leadership skills and quality management.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Develop a model of care for paediatric Surgical Services for patients that is consistent with the Clinical Services Capability Framework of the new paediatric surgical service at TPCH.
• Inform the efficient utilisation of operating rooms, coordination of outpatient clinics, review of patients, clinical pathways and clinical guidelines.
• Demonstrate clinical leadership in advocacy for communicating needs of a paediatric surgical service consumers and their families within Queensland Health and actively promote family-centred-care principles and practices in the design of service delivery.
