About the role

NRFDC is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Coordinator with a sound understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Framework (NQF) to join the passionate team.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the provision of a quality, efficient and responsive home-based Early Childhood and Education for families in the Lismore region.

The core function of the role will be to visit FDC educators at their homes, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance in accordance with the framework.

Part-time role on a six-month contract

Strong potential for contract extension beyond six months

Work 16 to 24 hours per week; start / end times and workdays are somewhat flexible

Children’s Services Award – Level 5, $36.37 to $37.55 dependent on qualifications and experience.

Key responsibilities and duties

Ensuring that the relevant provisions and standards of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations are understood and adhered to by Educators

Ensuring the policies and procedures of NRCS Ltd and Northern Rivers Family Day Care are understood and adhered to by Educators

Ensure families receive quality Early Childhood and Education service through the development and implementation of appropriate policies, procedures, and guidelines

Ensuring Educators receive professional and personal support in their role as Early Childhood and Education providers in accordance with their needs and experience

Ensuring Children in care are experiencing an environment which is emotionally, socially, cognitively, and physically stimulating, and meets their individual developmental needs

Supporting the Director in recruitment and training of new Educators

Offer appropriate placement choices to families when requested by Director

Conduct playgroups as required in the absence of the Playgroup Coordinator

Ability to develop risk management plans in consultation with the FDC Director

Accompany Educators on Excursions and assist them as required

General office computer skills including word processing & email.

Key selection criteria

Minimum requirement: Diploma of Children’s Services

Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a qualified Early Childhood and Education professional

Knowledge of the current Family Day Care Regulation

Knowledge of Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Framework (NQF

High level of written and oral communication skills

Effective degree of assertiveness and confidence required to always ensure compliance of Regulations by FDC Educators

Commitment to the principles of quality Early Childhood and Education

Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision

Current working with Children Check

National Police Check (no more than 6 months old)

Current Senior First Aid / CPR Certificate

Current full Driver’s License

Use of a reliable private motor vehicle.
