As an office-based Project Surveyor, you will manage and coordinate survey operations, ensuring compliance with project specifications. Your role involves processing and analysing survey data, preparing detailed reports, and liaising with internal teams and clients to ensure alignment and address project-related queries. This position requires proficiency in survey software, a strong understanding of survey principles, and effective communication skills.
Description
As a Project Surveyor, you will play a vital role in coordinating and managing survey operations, ensuring seamless execution from planning through to field delivery. Based primarily in the office with occasional offshore site visits, you'll bridge technical planning with operational outcomes. You'll support survey mobilizations, system configuration, data processing, and stakeholder liaison, aligning technical delivery with commercial and safety goals.
- Assist with survey planning, resource allocation, and mobilization/demobilization logistics.
- Author clear procedures, scopes, logs, and readiness documentation for offshore operations.
- Configure online navigation software and survey instrumentation (navigation, calibration, positioning).
Profile
- Degree in Hydrographic Surveying, Geomatics, Surveying, Engineering, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
- Ideally an IMCA Senior Surveyor competence pathway or recognized accreditation.
- Extensive experience in marine/offshore survey operations.
- At least 24 months and 200 operational days offshore (Party Chief or equivalent)
Technical Skills & Experience
- Survey Principles: Deep understanding of hydrometric, geomatic, and terrestrial survey methods.
- Instrumentation: Experience with Gyro, DGNSS, USBL, LBL, INS systems, MBES, geophysical tools.
- Survey Systems: Proficient with EIVA software and navigation package setup.
- Remote Systems: Familiarity with AUV/ROV operations, diving-support survey tools.
- Data Management: Skilled in data processing, GIS, CAD, cloud/Azure backup/configuration.
- IT Competency: Comfortable with networking, IT infrastructure, and troubleshooting.
- Vessel Mobilization: Exposure to pre-/post-mobilization phases and onboard survey rigging.
