Let’s be honest: most embedded roles out there are... fine. You’ll work on firmware updates, fix bugs, maybe get to fiddle with a new board once in a while. But if you’re the kind of engineer who wants to build systems that are quite literally designed for the edge of possibility, keep reading.

We’re looking for someone to lead the embedded software function in a small, sharp, and technically stacked team. You’ll be the go-to person for embedded strategy, design, and delivery, guiding a crew of engineers building systems that need to perform where failure isn’t just inconvenient, it’s mission-ending.

The tech stack? Embedded C, real-time operating systems, control algorithms in MATLAB/Simulink, and a lot of hands-on work with sensors, actuators, and hardware integration. If you’ve built and debugged systems that couldn’t afford to crash, you’ll feel right at home here.

You’ll be doing things like:

• Leading a team of embedded engineers (and actually getting to shape how things are done)
• Architecting control systems that drive real hardware, none of this simulation-only stuff
• Working across hardware, software, and systems teams to make sure everything just works
• Writing code you’re proud of, and helping others do the same
• Getting your hands dirty from concept to deployment

You need to know your stuff. That means 5+ years in embedded systems, strong control systems knowledge, confidence in C and RTOS environments, and ideally some experience with robotics. If you’ve done HIL testing or worked on complex systems in tough conditions, even better.

You’ll need to be eligible for Baseline security clearance. If you’re not sure what that is, Google it, if it’s a no-go, this probably isn’t for you.
