The Role:

Full-Time or Part-time (0.8FTE) permanent opportunity with remuneration of $100,000-$120,000 per annum (full time equivalent), to be negotiated with the successful candidate.

A rare and exciting opportunity is on offer to join the Beechworth Bakery executive team and support the Managers of our North East bakeries to continue making memories for staff and customers. This position primarily supports our four North East Victoria bakeries in Beechworth, Yackandandah, Albury, and Bright, with flexibility and potential to assist other bakeries across the network as operational needs arise. It includes regular travel in work hours and some overnight stays.

Reporting to the General Manager, we are seeking someone with strong people management experience who can lead teams, drive accountability, and deliver on culture, performance, and customer experience outcomes. You'll play a key role in empowering leaders across the business while driving performance and development in our stores. As an active member of Beechworth Bakery’s Advisory Board, you’ll also contribute to the strategic direction and broader business planning. Your Responsibilities:

Lead and support Bakery Managers and their teams across four North East locations, providing guidance and accountability in:

Strategizing to not only meet but exceed Key KPI’s and budgets,

Support problem solving and finding solutions,

Maintaining bakery standards – from core values, culture, customer experience, product quality, bakery presentation, staff training, and more;

Overseeing people management practices including recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and resolution of staff issues, ensuring alignment with company values and HR best practice,

Maintaining product excellence and compliance with food safety and regulatory standards,

Promoting a strong safety culture through training, compliance, and effective incident management.

Drive operational excellence by coaching and mentoring leaders across all areas of bakery operations.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives, applying innovation and lean practices to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

Foster a positive, high-performing workplace culture through strong leadership, performance development, and team engagement.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional executive team members, including Finance, People & Culture, Marketing, and Customer Experience.

Contribute strategic insights and operational expertise to help shape Beechworth Bakery’s future as an employer of choice.

There is also the opportunity to be involved in community engagement initiatives, representing the business locally and supporting our regional impact.

What we are looking for in you:

Genuine passion for the industry, with a strong commitment to excellence and delivering outstanding customer experiences.

Proven track record in a similar role, with experience leading multi-site teams and consistently exceeding targets.

Results-driven approach with the ability to meet budgets and KPIs, while fostering team understanding and engagement.

Strong leadership capabilities, with the confidence to mentor, motivate, and manage high-performing teams, including navigating difficult conversations and conflict resolution.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels, both internally and externally.

Exceptional time management and organisational skills, with sharp attention to detail.

Strategic and analytical thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

Able to manage day-to-day operational demands while contributing to long-term planning and business growth.
