About your new role
As a Safety Assurance Officer, you’ll partner with stakeholders to provide assurance support, overseeing the implementation and follow-up of corrective actions from WHS audits while collaborating with departments to track progress and verify closure. Dive deep into safety systems with critical analysis and innovative thinking through both horizontal and vertical evaluations. Leverage modern, forward-thinking WHS practices to drive continuous improvement, shape a robust safety culture, and uplift WHS capability across all levels of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provision of assurance support and oversight on all corrective actions, tracking progress and verifying closure
• Partner with WHS teams to critically assess and improve safety systems
• Analyse investigation findings to shape safety culture and systems improvement
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive modern, forward-thinking WHS assurance initiatives
• Champion continuous improvement and innovation within the safety framework
We're looking for people who have:
• A strong grasp of contemporary WHS practices and assurance activities
• Proven ability to critically evaluate systems, challenge assumptions, and implement solutions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly around incident outcomes and safety culture
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and with diverse stakeholders
• Drivers licence class C unrestricted
