Our boutique Physiotherapy Practice was established in 2021 and is expanding with thanks to our beautiful, loyal clientele base. We now have two locations in the Pilbara (Dampier and Karratha) offering opportunity to explore our region. Qualifications & experience
Relevant in order of priority:
Yoga Instructor
Group Fitness or Personal Training Certification with willingness to undertake YTT (yoga teacher training)
Pilates Instructor or equivalent (Mat & Reformer)
Interest in Sport/Recreation , Health/Wellbeing and Physiotherapy services.
Teaching and Demonstrating Yoga/Pilates
Guiding Classes: Leading students through a series of pilates poses, creating a team culture, while teaching yoga/pilates principles and techniques.
Demonstrating Proper Technique: Showing all stages of class participant how to perform each exercise correctly to avoid injury and maximize benefits that extend their yoga/pilates knowledge and practice.
Providing Modifications: Offering alternative poses or adjustments for students with varyious skill levels, physical limitations, or injuries.
Creating Class Plans
Designing Sequences: Developing structured class plans that align with the goals and skill levels of students.
Incorporating Themes: Integrating themes or intentions into classes to enhance the yoga/group fitness/pilates culture and experience, engaging participants and encouraging fun.
Adapting: Tailoring classes to participants needs and goals, focus on enhancing benefits of strength, muscle length, balance, co-ordination and recovery from sessions.
Ensuring Safety
Monitoring Students: Keeping an eye on students to ensure they are performing techniques that are safe and effective.
Preventing Injuries: Providing guidance on how to avoid common injuries and offering adjustments as needed.
First Aid Knowledge: Being prepared to handle any minor injuries or emergencies that may arise during class.
Screening: Provide consultations that address client apprehensions and concerns, goals and needs for modification to enhance their ability to participate and enhance quality of life.
Follow up: Provide consultations that check progress towards individual goals as they adapt address new goals and progress/regress their classes as their needs shift and change to align with their current state of being and varying needs.
Providing Individual Attention
Offering Adjustments: Giving hands-on or verbal adjustments to help students improve their alignment and practice in a safe and respectful manner.
Personalized Feedback: Providing individualized feedback and encouragement to help students progress.
Listening to Students: Being approachable and available to discuss any concerns or questions students may have.
Creating a Welcoming Environment
Fostering Inclusivity: Ensuring that all students feel welcome, regardless of their age, size, gender, or fitness level.
Setting the Atmosphere: Creating a fun and comfortable environment with appropriate lighting, music, and cleanliness.
Encouraging Community: Promoting a sense of community and connection among students.
Continuing Education and Personal Practice
Staying Informed: Keeping up with the latest developments in yoga/fitness/pilates practice and teaching methods.
Personal Practice: Maintaining a regular personal yoga/pilates practice to stay connected with the discipline and inspire students.
Attending Workshops and Training: Participating in ongoing education to enhance skills and knowledge.
Administrative Tasks
Class Scheduling: Managing class schedules and coordinating with venue hire, studios or fitness centres.
Marketing and Promotion: Promoting classes through social media, flyers, or word-of-mouth to attract and retain students.
Handling Payments: Managing class fees, memberships, and other financial aspects if not handled by the studio/physiotherapy practice.
Mentorship and Guidance
Mentoring Students: Providing guidance and mentorship to students who may wish to pursue pilates practice or pursue teaching themselves.
Building Relationships: Developing strong, supportive relationships with students to foster their personal growth and development.
