Exciting career opportunity in mental health rehabilitation!

We’re looking for health professionals to join us as we open a new, state-of-the-art Mental Health Rehabilitation Service (MHRS) at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH).

This is your chance to be part of a new patient focussed service that prioritises recovery and the delivery of best-practice, trauma-informed care in a brand new 24-bed building. If you’re passionate about being part of a safe and connected organisation and looking for a rewarding career in mental health, apply today!

About the Role

Be part of a transformative mental health initiative at the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN). The MHRS at TQEH offers evidence-based, high-quality rehabilitation services tailored to the needs of consumers across the CALHN catchment.

In this role, the Psychiatry Registrar will collaborate with inpatient, community, and rehabilitation teams to deliver person-centred, trauma-informed care that supports recovery and community integration. Working within a multidisciplinary team and under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist, you’ll play a key role in enhancing consumer wellbeing, promoting independence, and driving positive outcomes. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to service development, continuous quality improvement, and clinical education in a modern, purpose-built facility.

For more information about the role, and essential educational/vocational qualifications that may be required, please refer to the role description.

About You

You’re a values-driven medical professional who brings empathy, integrity, and a genuine commitment to supporting people on their recovery journey. You approach your work with curiosity, compassion, and a strong sense of purpose, and you’re motivated to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. To thrive in this role, you will bring:

Registration (or eligibility) with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner, and a strong foundation in medical and mental health practice.

A person-centred approach with the ability to listen, communicate with empathy, and support consumers and their families with dignity and respect.

A collaborative mindset, valuing teamwork and shared decision-making across disciplines to provide holistic and inclusive care.

A commitment to continuous learning, equity, and safe practice, grounded in an understanding of trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented principles.

If you are passionate about making a difference in mental health rehabilitation, we’d love to hear from you!
