We currently have the opportunity for a Tree Management Officer to join our team.
As a Tree Management Officer, you will:
- Administer Council’s Tree Preservation Order (TPO)
- Undertake administration
- Prepare quotation documents, assess and select contractors and project manage the completion of various arboriculture works on public land
- Provide advice to the public on correct arboriculture practice and correct management of trees
- Liaise with independent Arborists and consultants in relation to tree management when required
- Take all reasonable steps to ensure compliance with Council’s policies, procedures and legislation and care of self and others in the workplace
- Assist Parks Coordinator with tree management issues and street tree maintenance
- Attend as council alternate technical officer on various external committees.

- Permanent full-time, 35 hours per week
- Access to Councils accrued flex time system allowing up to 2 days off each month
- Annual salary from $73,032 to $80,517 (salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience)
- Progressive salary up to $88,771
- A market allowance will be considered for an exceptional candidate
- Plus 12% superannuation
- A mobile phone and vehicle for operational use.
What you'll need to be successful in the role...
- A Diploma qualification in Horticulture (Arboriculture)
- A minimum Class C Driver’s Licence
- Expert knowledge in arboriculture including experience in carrying out inspections and the preparation of reports • Knowledge of Australian Standards relating to arboriculture in particular AS4373
- Knowledge and experience issuing infringement notices as per Local Government Act and the Environmental Planning Assessment Act
- The ability to work unsupervised and plan, prioritise and manage your work activities
- Excellent customer relations skills including internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in MS Office suite.
