About the role

Substance Espresso is seeking a skilled Cafe Chef to join our team in our Runaway Bay. As an A la carte Brunch Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes for our customers in a fast-paced cafe environment.

What you'll be doing

Preparing and cooking a range of cafe-style meals, including breakfast, lunch, and snack items

Ensuring all dishes are prepared to a high standard and delivered in a timely manner

Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen workspace

Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations

Collaborating with the front-of-house team to provide excellent customer service

Assisting with menu development and item experimentation as needed

What we're looking for

Relevant experience as a Cafe Chef or Cook, preferably in a fast-paced environment as our dockets don't stop

Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation

Excellent time management and multitasking abilities

A passion for creating delicious, high-quality cafe-style dishes

Ability to work well in a team and a positive, customer-focused attitude

Food safety and hygiene certification

Weekend availability essential (with flexibility for requesting weekends off for life commitments whe nneeded)

Ideally 30 - 38 hours a week with full time salary available for the right candidate.
